Today I got an e-mail from a charity FreeTheChildren and while looking through the e-mail something caught my eye. I saw a man with no legs, using his arms as legs sitting on a mountain. Curiosity got the best of me so I read on. The mans name is Spencer West. He lost both his legs to a genetic disease at just 5 years old and still led on a normal life while being told otherwise. He accomplished a ton of achievements, some of them including building schools in Africa and becoming a Me to We speaker.
Spencer is climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. This is the highest mountain in Africa at 5,985 metres/19,431 feet above sea level. A climb like this for any man would be dangerous and extremely difficult. Spencer hopes to raise $750,000 to provide drought affected communities in East Africa with clean water.
I thought this was an inspiring story and its also a worthy cause. Check out the link below for more info.
